Hundreds of motorhomes and a variety of accessory merchandise will be assembled in Albuquerque in mid-March in a display of recreation vehicles at EXPO New Mexico.  The motorhome exhibition, which will take place Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday, March 22, 23, 24, and 25, 2010, is part of a convention of an international motorhome owners' club, the Family Motor Coach Association, based in Cincinnati.

ANAHEIM, Calif. – Thanks to El Niño, Southern California has been getting more rain than usual this winter.

The National Wildlife Federation is offering $30,000 in cash prizes to winners of its 40th annual photo contest.  There are seven photo categories in three divisions: professional, amateur and youth.

Visitors to Phoenix can now offer their own opinions of hotels, resorts, restaurants and other business on the official website of the Greater Phoenix Convention and Visitors Bureau.

The site, at visitphoenix.com, has been redesigned to allow visitors to create customized Google maps and itineraries and to share the information with friends through social networking sites.  All the businesses listed on the revamped Phoenix website have a place where users can post ratings and reviews.

The National Recreation and Park Association has lauded President Obama for asking for increased funds for parks and recreation, but says even more money is needed.

The President’s proposed 2011 budget includes $434 million for the Land and Water Conservation Fund, with $50 million for state grants. This is a $100 million increase, and a 25 percent increase in state funding, the association noted, but comes while state and local governments are cutting back on park and recreation funding in order to balance their budgets.

Thor Industries, the world’s largest RV manufacturer, has reported sharply improved sales and says it expects the upward trend to continue through this year. RV sales for the latest quarter, ending January 31, were $335 million, up from $135 million a year ago.
