Adventurer L.P. (ALP), which produces Eagle Cap truck campers, has expanded the brand with the introduction of a line of Eagle Cap Class C motorhomes.

Grand Teton National Park is a wondrous place anytime of the year. Visit in summer, however, and you’ll have to share the trails, campsites and views with hordes of other visitors. Spring and fall are especially nice, as there are fewer crowds, the wildlife is more visible and magnificent scenes abound. I’ve been to the park in all four seasons and must say that winter is one of my favorite times to visit.

Don’t do a Thelma and Louise!” This was the cry from our friends in London when we told them we were off to the Grand Canyon. The film had warned us of the dangers of picking up strange men in roadside bars, killing them, going on the run, blowing up trucks, and driving off the edge of the Grand Canyon. Arizona seemed to have a lot more to offer than saguaro cactus and UFO sightings.

At first glance Arches National Park looks like it is full of large-scale sand sculptures that have hardened under the desert sun. With a smattering of knowledge of German wines from evening classes, where we learned that there was a lot more to them today than the cheap, low-quality plonk blended for the U.K. and U.S. markets 30 years ago, we decided this was the time to rediscover German wines with a visit to the region where they are made.

The year is 2007. The air is heavy and hot. A slight breeze blows in off the water, but it, too, is warm and only adds to the weight of an already record-breaking summer’s end. A strange sense of desperation envelops me as I shuffle up to an abandoned building that is shimmering in the afternoon sun. Like a bizarre scene from some yet-to-be-made post-apocalyptic western, the North Shore Beach & Yacht Club bakes in the blistering heat of another dry summer in the California desert.

Few sights are as impressive and photogenic as hot air balloons drifting across the sky. This summer and into the fall, there will be multiple opportunities to see these colorful creations lift off and sail through the air at festivals throughout the West.
