This newest update in the Moon handbook series is a comprehensive guide to the state of Nevada. While about a quarter of its 437 pages are devoted to Las Vegas, the book is probably most valuable to RVers for its detailed information on the rest of the state.
Unlike many state and city guides, it pays attention to RV camping and parking. It lists and describes RV parks, including their rates and whether they have hookups and other amenities.
Author Scott Smith has lived in Nevada for more than 20 years and is a frequent contributor to Nevada magazine. He exhibits a great familiarity with all areas of the state and with its colorful history, and seems equally at home whether appraising buffets in La Vegas or advising where to camp and eat in Winnemucca.
In addition to detailed information about lodging, restaurants and attractions, this guidebook includes maps, travel tips, historical notes, and suggested trips throughout the state.
Moon Nevada, the eighth edition, is published in paperback at $19.99 by Avalon Travel.
