Final wholesale shipment numbers from RV manufacturers show that they shipped 252,300 RVs to customers in 2011, a 4.8 percent increase over the previous year and the highest total in four years. All of the gains were in towable units, with motorhome shipments dropping slightly, according to figures from the Recreation Vehicle Industry Association.
