Cocoons Fit Over Glasses
If you wear prescriptions glasses, you can protect your eyes from the sun and eliminate glare by placing Cocoons sunwear over your eyeglasses.
Cocoons are polarized sunglasses that fit over prescription eyewear. They come in six shapes and sizes to match various prescription frames and have adjustable temples to add to the comfort level.
They feature Polaré lenses, which are durable, scratch-resistant and block all of the harmful UV rays. Cocoons are available in gray, amber, yellow and copper polarized tints. The company says gray is the most popular tint because it delivers natural outdoor color definition. But all of the other tints also have advantages. Amber is popular around the water for improved depth perception, yellow is best for early morning low-light conditions, and copper, which has heightened contrast, is popular for activities such as fishing, hunting and golf where the eyes need to be relaxed, focused and protected from eyestrain for extended periods of time. Suggested retail price is just under $40.
Sizing guides to determine which Cocoons style can best fit over your prescription lenses can be found online, in product catalogs and via fax from Live Eyewear of San Luis Obispo, California. Phone (800) 834-2563 or visit www.liveeyewear.com.
Bike Carriers Made for RVs
Thule, which manufactures roof racks and other accessories for outdoor recreation, has developed new bike carriers to be mounted on the rear of RVs.
Buyers have a choice of two Smart RV bike carrier systems. One is a rail system that holds three bikes. The other is a ladder-mount system that carries two bikes and has a usable ladder when the bikes are removed. The ladder is available in three sizes: six, seven and eight feet.
Our new bike carriers were engineered and tested specifically for use on RVs, said Kevin Bogoslofski, Thules lead project engineer. They are built to stand up to the extreme forces created when the bikes are carried so far behind the rear axle.
The rail system for the bike carriers must be factory installed. Cost for either carrier is $549.

Gas Gauge Checks Propane
GasWatch is a new device that connects to a gas barbecue to let the user gauge the amount of propane left in the tank so that it doesnt run out while cooking. The gauge connects between the tank and regulator.
The electronic model has a remote LED display unit that sounds an alarm when the tank level is low. In addition to gas barbecues, the device can be installed on propane heaters and generators, or any appliance that uses a propane tank.
Shailendra Suman, president of TVL International, which manufactures GasWatch, said the gauge enables people to avoid the situation he faced a few years ago when he had 10 family members over for a barbecue and the propane tank ran out of gas while he was cooking. It was very embarrassing, said Suman. I had to cook the food on the kitchen stove.
GasWatch is available at Target, Sears, hardware stores and other retailers. The suggested retail price is $19.95 for Gas Watch I and $29.95 for GasWatch II, which has a remote display and audible alarm.
