Komfort Enters Entry-Level Market

Komfort, which started building travel trailers in 1967 and has long concentrated on the mid-level and high-end markets, has introduced a new entry-level model this year called the Kampsite.

Chris Hadfield, Komfort assistant sales manager, said the Kampsite has the same fit and finish as the higher-end models and is built in the same assembly plant in Oregon, but comes with fewer amenities and at a lower price. The goal with Kampsite, he said, has been to build a quality trailer that will impress buyers so much that they will stay in the Komfort family if they later decide to move up to a more luxurious trailer or fifth wheel.

The Kampsite comes with an all-fiberglass exterior and welded tubular aluminum sidewalls. Features include a large double-door refrigerator, microwave oven, all-wood drawers, a shower skylight, awning, and a large-output furnace. The fresh water tank holds 56 gallons and the wastewater tanks hold 40 gallons.

The Kampsite is currently offered in six floor plans in trailers that are 23 to 29 feet long. The suggested base retail price is $14,790 to $22,475.
