Water Bottle Lights Up Room
The new LightCap water bottle is an unbreakable one-liter water bottle with a cap that contains a solar-powered light. Among other uses, it can be hung at a campsite for light, be carried as a flashlight in the dark, and be stored with water for use in an emergency so that water and light are always available.

A two-hour charge of sunshine will keep the LightCap bright for hours, according to the distributor. The internal Ni-Cad system is designed to last at least 1,000 cycles and the bulbs are guaranteed for 10,000 hours. The light switch activates between a white bulb bright enough for reading and a red bulb for night vision, or can be turned off altogether. A light sensor turns the light off in the day if it is accidentally left on.

The LightCap is available in RV, outdoor and marine stores or online at www.sollight.com for $24.95. SolLight products are distributed by Simply Brilliant, P. O. Box 856, Hood River, OR 97031

Switches Enhance Dual Batteries
Cole Hersee, which makes heavy-duty electrical and electronic products for vehicles, has introduced the M-750, a complete series of 6-36 V battery selector and master disconnect switches. With a dual battery system, the M-750 series switches deliver backup starting power in an emergency, enable two batteries to power independent loads and allow those batteries to be selectively charged.

The switches operate as an emergency shut down, protecting against electrical fires, tampering, theft and battery drain while the vehicle is left unattended. For information, contact Cole Hersee, 20 Old Colony Avenue, Boston, MA 02127-2467. Phone (617) 268-2100 or see www.colehersee.com.
