Workhorse Revises Chassis Lineup
Workhorse Custom Chassis will begin production this month of two new W Series chassis models for small Class A motorhomes, replacing the P Series created by General Motors. Bob Wert, Workhorse vice president of sales, marketing and product planning, said the changeover is a watershed moment for the company. Our last link to the old GM chassis is gone, he said. We have nothing but W Series gas chassis nowall designed from the ground up specifically for the needs of todays motorhome buyers.
The new models, the W16 and W18, will carry gross vehicle weight ratings of 16,000 and 18,000 pounds. The new design provides for wider, stronger frames to accommodate slideouts, and puts the engine lower to the ground to increase stability and reduce noise. A GM Vortec 8100 8.1L gasoline engine will be standard. Other features will include a Hydra-matic 4-speed automatic transmission, I-beam front suspension and Bilstein shocks. Tork Lift Expands Fast Gun
Tork Lift has introduced the new Fast Gun Derringer that can convert any conventional truck camper turnbuckle into a quick lever-action design that makes it easy to hook up and disconnect a truck and camper. Sold in sets of four, the Derringer is designed to thread easily onto the half-inch threaded rod found in all major truck camper turnbuckle brands. For those using conventional hardware-type turnbuckles with less than half-inch threaded rods, the Derringer still does the job when fitted with a forged eyebolt.
The Fast Gun Derringer is available through RV dealers. To find a dealer, call Tork Lift at (800) 246-8132 or visit www.torklift.com.

The manufacturer says the system works with any washer fluid, heating it to the optimum temperature and spraying the right amount at the right intervals for maximum effectiveness. The system runs in both park and drive and can be in operation in 90 seconds, even when the engine is cold. The manufacturers suggested retail price, not including installation, is $179. BD Diesel Raises Power
BD Diesel Performance has developed an X-Power Ram performance module for Dodge 5.9L diesel engines, including the 600 series, in the 2003 model year and later. The manufacturer says the module achieves performance gains of up to 130 horsepower and 240 lbs.ft. of torque by altering the duration timing of the injection pulse, instead of increasing the rail pressure, which has been known to cause fuel leakage and damage. Prices start at $579. For information, call (800) 887-5030 or see www.bddieselperformance.com.
