BD Offers New Exhaust Brake Kit
BD Engine Brake has introduced a new exhaust brake kit for the 6.0 Ford PowerStroke. Electronic controls communicate with the new variable geometry turbocharger, the exhaust gas recirculation system and the throttle pedal when the exhaust brake is engaged. The design results in peak retarding power at low engine rpm at cruising speeds. The kit contains an air compressor with all the mounting hardware. Retail price is $1,195. For information, see www.dieselperformance.com or contact BD Engine Brake of Abbotsford, British Columbia at (800) 887-5030.

Air-Dryr Reduces Moisture
The new Davis Air-Dryr warms damp air to eliminate excessive moisture, preventing mold, mildew, corrosion and other problems from arising in RVs, boats, homes and storage units.

The device works through natural convection as damp air is drawn into the unit’s base, heated above the dew point, and released through top vents. As it warms the air, the Air-Dryr also eliminates cold drafts. The device is designed for continuous operation, and costs about as much to run as a light bulb. The manufacturer says the Air-Dryr has no parts that can cause sparking, and automatically shuts off if airflow is impeded. The Air-Dryr comes in two models, priced at $62.95 and $52.95. Trailer Guardian Improves Security
The Trailer Guardian, a device designed to take the worry out of towing by helping to prevent accidental decoupling, has been developed by Safety Products, Inc., of Kalispell, Montana. The system keeps the trailer securely locked to the tow vehicle.

The Trailer Guardian will prevent separation even with mismatched coupler and ball, non-secured coupler or loss of the ball nut, according to the manufacturer. This is especially advantageous for those who have more than one trailer with different ball sizes for the couplers. For information, see www.trailerguardian.com or call (800) 861-7416. The product can be obtained by sending $49.99, plus $9.99 for shipping and handling, to GNV Direct, 3060 S. Delaware Ave., Springfield, MO 65804.

Compact Microwave Adds Power
Tappan has introduced a new stainless steel microwave for RVs and boats that is small, but still has 700 watts of power and all of the convenience features found on larger microwaves in home kitchens.

The new microwave has .7 cubic feet of space and measures just under 18 inches wide, 11 1/2 inches high and 12 3/4 inches deep. It has 10 power levels and six one-touch menus, plus such features as auto defrost, cooking by weight and auto reheat. The suggested retail price is $119.99.
