Contessa Returns

The Contessa, once one of the most popular models made by Beaver Motor Coach, disappeared from its lineup three years ago, but has returned for 2007 with a new look.

The completely redesigned Contessa is now built on the Roadmaster raised-rail chassis, and that, according to the manufacturer, means that it rides and handles much better than the 2003 Contessa, which was built on the Magnum chassis. Adam Gudger, Beaver national sales manager, said the Magnum “was good in its day,” but can’t compare with today’s Roadmaster.

With eight outboard-mounted airbags and cushion air-glide suspension, Gudger said, “The Contessa is a driver’s dream.”

The Contessa is offered in six floor plans from 36 to 42 feet, all with quad slides and pass-through storage. The handcrafted wood cabinetry is offered in a choice of white oak, rustic cherry, tight knot walnut and maple. Features include Euro-styled front and rear caps, Panaview one-piece windshield, Sony electronics, a power generator slide-out tray, color rear vision system, and multiplex wiring throughout. A Hydro-Hot Heating System is one of the options.

The Contessa is powered by a Caterpillar C-9 400 horsepower engine, with a Cummins ISL 400 offered as an option. The retail base price is $264,461.
