New Shocks Smooth Out Ride
Koni has designed a new shock absorber for Class A motorhomes that includes a special valve designed to filter out annoying vibrations before they enter the coach.

The manufacturer says that while most shock absorbers are velocity sensitive, these Frequency Selective Damper (FSD) shocks are frequency sensitive. To ensure a smooth ride, the FSD valve is open during high frequency inputs like those from expansion joints and rough roads. Once you start to roll and pitch over low frequency inputs such as overpasses and large bumps, the FSD valve closes down and makes a linear increase in damping forces until the RV settles down. Suggested retail prices start at $170. For information about availability with various applications, contact Koni RV, 1961 A International Way, Hebron, KY 41075. Plastic Bag Dispenser Saves Space
If you don’t have the space in your RV to carry along plastic bags of various sizes, the Knot-a-Bag may be the answer. It consists of a roll of plastic bags and a dispenser with a built-in safety cutter. You cut the bag to the desired length and then knot the end.

The Knot-a-Bag is produced by Davis Instruments of Hayward, California. The bags are waterproof and recyclable. The Knot-a-Bag dispenser is four inches long and comes with two rolls of polyethylene with material for 65 feet of bags. A refill pack provides three additional rolls. The dispenser and refill packs are priced at $6.99. For information, contact Davis Instruments, 3465 Diablo Ave., Hayward, CA 94545. Phone (510) 732-9229 or visit www.davisnet.com.

New Product Fights Odors
New OdorXit Blue is designed to treat holding tanks for odors, using a proprietary mixture of water-soluble plant extracts and derivatives. The user pours two ounces of OdorXit Blue into a toilet, adds a quart or two of water, and flushes. The treatment absorbs odors from the tank, hoses and vent pipes. The manufacturer says one treatment removes odors for three months or until the holding tank is emptied.

A four-once bottle of OdorXit Blue carries a suggested retail price of $9.95 and is sold through retailers and online at www.odorxit.com. For information, contact OdorXit, P. O. Box 805, Hamilton, OH 45012 or call (877) 636-7948.

Coating Blocks Mold
Rhino Hide’s UltraBan is designed to protect wood from harmful mold and fungi growth. When wood and other surfaces become saturated with water, mold can grow and make cleanup difficult. UltraBan creates a vapor-permeable film that controls moisture and prevents mold growth.

The manufacturer says the product is effective on both exterior and interior surfaces. Rhino Hide’s UltraBan is sold in one-gallon and 2.5-gallon containers. A 40-ounce spray bottle is also available. The one-gallon size retails for $59.95. For information, contact Rhino Hide at (863) 665-0203 or visit www.rhinohide.com.

Jukebox Downloads Tunes
The proliferation of online subscription music services has created a business that is expected to reach $1 billion in sales this year. RCA’s entries in this growing field include the Lyra Micro Jukeboxes, which download and play thousands of songs in a device small enough to fit behind a business card.

The Lyra RD2765 can hold 170 hours of music (about 3,400 songs) and includes a color screen to view photos and music album covers. It carries a suggested retail price of $199.
The players are compatible with music download subscription services that support Windows Media Audio, including Yahoo Music Unlimited and RealNetworks’ Rhapsody. The players come packaged with a music management software CD and can accommodate ten hours of playback time with a rechargeable lithium ion battery.
