Tour Guide in a Box
If you plan to tour western Canada this summer, you will be able to rent a device that is mounted on your windshield and automatically plays the commentary of a tour guide as you travel. The device uses GPS technology to track where you are. As you pass certain points, audio files are triggered and the tour guide starts talking.

GPS Tour Guide, a Canadian company, calls its device the GyPSy Guide, and says it is programmed with interesting facts and stories, quirky tales and an array of tips and advice on how to enjoy the area. Rick Bulich, the company’s business development manager, said, “The GyPSy Guide is like a local friend or personal human tour guide that will share interesting stories and entertain you along the way.” The GyPSy Guide for Western Canada, which covers travel to Victoria, Vancouver and Whistler and to national parks and major cities, will be available in May. For information, call (866) 477-4171 or visit www.gpstourscanada.com.

Thetford Produces Plumbing Sanitizer
Thetford is introducing a new sanitizing solution called the Fresh Water Tank Sanitizer that kills bacteria in fresh water plumbing without using seal-damaging bleach or chlorine.

Mary R. Burrows, manager of chemical development for Thetford, said water tank surfaces and systems must be sanitized to prevent disease. “Bacteria grow and multiply whenever water sits for any length of time—even in chlorinated water—including the inside surfaces of water storage tanks and hoses,” she said. “As water sits, the chlorine level drops, reducing its ability to prevent bacterial growth.” Thetford Corp. of Ann Arbor, Michigan, is a leading supplier of sanitation and refrigeration products for RVs. For more information on the Fresh Water Tank Sanitizer, visit www.thetford.com.

Safe-T-Solve is a cleaner designed to remove dirt, road tar, dead bugs, black streaks and other grime from the outside of an RV without harming the finish. The product is sprayed directly on the soiled area and then washed off or wiped clean with a cloth.

The manufacturer says Safe-T-Solve can also be used inside to remove stove grease, oil, ink, and scuff marks without marring surfaces. The cleaner is water-based and biodegradable. It comes in two sizes. The 32-ounce bottle retails for $15.25 and the gallon container for $27.51. For information, contact Iosso Products, 1485 Lively Blvd., Elk Grove, IL 60007.
