What do most people have at home that you rarely see in an RV? While today's RVs have most of the comforts of home, the one thing missing until recently has been an adequate office space or simple desk area. Most of the people taking to the road these days, whether full or part time RVers, are in need of some type of desk or office space. Store purchased home desk units are generally too large or bulky for the smaller areas allowed in RVs. At Dave & LJ's RV Interior Design, we can custom design and tailor a desk to fit your needs. Shown below are some solutions we have came up with, each unit was custom built to fit the customers space, storage needs, and components. Feel free to contact us with any questions. 360-225-7700 Thanks again for visiting our blog, and check back every Thursday for our newest entry!

There are many RV owners who claim their RV serves cocktails for six, dinner for four, but only sleeps two. On the rare occasion you have guests or relatives that you want to stay for more than one night without complaining of back pain, now there is a solution! The Majestic Air Sleep System by Flexsteel Industries. For any of us who have slept on a traditional hide-a-bed, this revolutionary product turns what used to be a horrible sleeping experience into a restful night's sleep. The mattress consists of two sections. The bottom half is an innerspring mattress on top of what is an inflatable air bladder. Both are totally encased in a quilted cover with a zippered top. The sofa folds out in the traditional fashion. Then in just about a minute with the included pump running off your 110 volt system, the air bladder inflates for an extremely comfortable sleeping area. You don't feel the bars or cross braces whatsoever. And when you wake up from your restful night's sleep, simply open the large release valve, and again in one minute, it's ready to fold up and put away. The Majestic Air Sleep System is now available on all new Flexsteel RV Hide-a-beds, and can be retrofit into many existing hide-a-bed sofas.

Many RV owners are coming in and wanting to know what they can install instead of carpet in their coaches or trailers. While there are many options we can offer our customers, one of the most cost effective, beautiful and long lasting options is laminate flooring. Just as with almost any product on the market, laminate flooring comes in a wide variety of styles, colors and, most importantly, qualities. At our store we offer Wilsonart high pressure laminates. They come in a wide variety of both wood and tile looks. Manufactured with a high density fiberboard, and the industry's thickest wear layer, this product will outperform most types of solid flooring. The wide array of matching trim and finish pieces offer a factory looking finish along the walls, or transitioning between your new laminate and other remaining types of flooring. Unlike a residential installation where laminate flooring is not glued down or is floating, in an RV where slides, moisture, and flexing of the floor is possible, bonding of the pieces both together and down to the floor is necessary. Here are just a few examples of laminate flooring jobs we have performed. Feel free to call or email me with any questions you may have. Thanks again for stopping by! If you own a front entry motorhome with a center mount tv in the front you might know what I'm talking about. If not, let me explain. For years most Class A motorhome manufacturer's have been installing large, heavy CRT (cathode ray tube) televisions at the perfect height to bump your head on, as you make your way up the interior steps of your motorhome. The great thing about the solution to knocking your head on this protruding cabinet is, it also involves installing a new and improved television. You can get a wider and much clearer picture within the same space by installing a LCD (liquid crystal display) television. Depending on the size of your new LCD, we can usually cut at least 5" off the height of the cabinet, as well as move it back even with the side component doors. As weight is usually a concern to many RVer's, your new TV will weigh half of what the old one did. While this can be a do it yourself project, and I've seen some good jobs, and some good for a laugh . We recommend bringing the RV in so we can give you a factory installed finish. Here are just a few examples of past projects. Also shown are a bedroom, and living room conversion on a swing out arm with storage behind.

After years of being the king of RV window treatments, the traditional day night shade is being dethroned. The American duo shade by MCD innovations is taking over the market. Now standard equipment in many high end RVs, The American Duo shade is a two part system with a daytime portion using MCD's exclusive Clearview Solar Screen to provide great outward visibility, privacy and heat protection. The night shade is 100% light blocking and is available in different colors, materials and patterns to complement any décor. Power and manual versions are available. The American Duo shades can be installed in most side window positions, as well as to replace the traditional wrap around pleated curtains on newer class A motorhomes with a flat front end. Reasonably priced and built to last, the American Duo is a smart choice in window treatment replacement. No strings to break, no rattling, and far better performance than anything previously found in recreational vehicles. Professional measuring and installation is recommended by the manufacturer. Stop by and see our working display models, and you will be sold on the new king of RV window treatments.
