"Toter" Interior Remodel!

Posted by: DaveLJ

Tagged in: Untagged

This customer like many toter owners tows a race car behind this coach. It is mostly used to hang out at the tracks during slack time at the races. Big TV's, new flooring and furniture were the items they came in looking for.
The front cab over was just open to the living room area, so this space was more than big enough to accept a fairly large TV. We installed a 55" 3D LCD TV and a sliding pocket door to close off the bunk area. The old TV space was moved out towards the wall with a new bank of cabinets to fill the hole.

On the floor we installed a congoleum wood plank pattern vinyl.  On the passenger side we installed a Flexsteel Easy Bed, and the slide out recieved a Flexsteel Easy Bed with the wrap around style dinette set all in Ultra Leather.

The opening to the front cab area came from the factory with a pleated fabric curtain to pull across to close off the cab area from the living rooom. We installed custom built solid oak sliding doors to do a better job of seperating the two and a much richer look.

In the stairwell we did a combination of heavy duty rubber step treads and the vinyl planks, and in the bedroom we installed a 37" LCD tv.

For those of you wintering down south, come see us at the Rally in Phoenix March 22-25.

Redesigned Window Treatments and Auto Motion Shades!

Posted by: DaveLJ

Tagged in: Untagged

This coach had dated wrap around window box's that fully surrouned the old day night shades. The customer wanted to have us install the Auto Motion roller shades but did not have the necessary clearance for the new shades. We completely rebuilt the window treatments in a more contemporary style with a nice accent panel where the center light was installed. They are covered in a easy to care for marine vinyl in black, which really sets off the lighter colored shades!

Installing laminate flooring on a motorhome slide!

Posted by: DaveLJ

Tagged in: Untagged

Like many customers, this one was looking to eliminate as much carpet as possible. The Alpha coach had carpet in the living room, main slide out and bedroom with tile in the kitchen and bath. They also had a small tile landing area at the top of the steps.
The factory tile was in good shape, so we left it in place in the kitchen and bath. We removed the landing area so the new laminate flooring would flow all the way to the front. The main slide is a flat floor slide with a bound edge of carpet to lay on the main floor once the slide is out. In order to have laminate on the slide out we remove the carpet, then install a subfloor over the original slide floor. We extend this new subfloor out to where the old carpet flap was. The laminate is installed and finished off with a matching stairnose trim. The end result is the slide floor is now about 3/4 of an inch higher than before. We also installed the laminate in the bedroom and a small amount of new carpeting on the bedroom slide and step sides.

Auto Motion Shades, Custom Cabinets, Flooring and more!

Tagged in: Untagged

In this coach we did a fairly extensive remodel. On the floor we installed luxury vinyl tiles on most of the main floor and carpet in the cab area, slide outs and bedroom. We installed a lighter color, installed on a diamond pattern with a darker grey grouting to make it stand out. We build several custom cabinetry pieces. We replaced the standard dinette set with a wall cabinet with slide out center dining table. Just inside the entry door, we removed a recliner and replaced it with a desk unit that can be used with the passenger seat swiveled around.
A new Flexsteel hideabed with the aircoil mattress and new captains chairs were installed in a nice upgraded fabric called Kashmira. The front curtain was replaced with the auto motion shade cockpit system. Power front day night roller shades and manual side shades, along with new valance work. Two new TV's and a cieling fan in the bedroom were the finishing touches!

Flexsteel Theatre Seating & a TV to match!

We met the folks with this coach at the good sam rally in Redmond Or. this past summer. They had traveled all the way from Alabama to spend the summer in the northwest and attend the rally. They were looking to reconfigure their coach with a much larger TV and a comfortable place to watch it from. The drivers slide out had a wall cabinet with free standing dinette chairs, along with a hideabed sofa. The Passenger slide had a matching love seat along with the kitchen. We designed a custom built cabinet for the drivers slide out which added a lot of storage and most imortantly the 46" flat screen on a power lift. In the dining area we retained the original table and installed a set of Flexsteel wrap around dinette benches. Across from the new TV we installed the Flexsteel Theatre Seating with center console. The two recliners are power operated.
The front area which used to house the old TV was finished off with a new cabinet door with storage behind.

Auto Motion Shades and a new vinyl floor!

Posted by: DaveLJ

Tagged in: Untagged

This Escalade toy hauler came in for new vinyl flooring on the entire main floor and the bathroom. We extended the vinyl all the way under the living room slide, eliminating a small strip of carpet in front of the slide.

The customer wanted a simpler, less fancy window treatment. We removed the multi layer draped valances and side boards and built a rich but simple top valance only. We replaced the pleated fabric shades with Auto Motion Shade day night roller shades, providing a much cleaner and better functioning shade system.

Luxury vinyl tiles and a sofa recover!

Posted by: DaveLJ

Tagged in: Untagged

This coach came in with several different flooring types that had been changed out over the years. They had some carpet, some tile and also some laminate flooring. We removed all of the flooring back to the bathroom tile, which was still in great shape. We installed a rich looking luxury vinyl tile from the bathroom forward to the fire wall. In the stairwell we installed rubber treads and uprights, with the tiles on the sides.
They had a nice Flexsteel sectional that was in need of a new cover. We recovered the piece in an ultra leather which matched nicely with the flooring.

Auto Motion Shades Now Available!

Dave & LJ's is proud to announce their partnership with Auto Motion Shade. Auto Motion Shade is North America's largest manufacturer of both manual and motorized shades for the RV industry, with over 30 years experience manufacturing shades for the entire transportation industry. Far superior quality at more competive pricing was what led us to become an authorized dealer for sales and installation of their dual roller shade systems. They are factory equipment in Fleetwood, Tiffin, Monaco, Newmar and Winnebago coaches.

Auto Motion Shade  offers the widest selection of fabric choices, and recently introduced colored day fabrics to give a richer look than the traditional black (screen door ) fabric. They also seal the edges of all of their day shade materials  to prevent frayed edges found in most competitors shades a short time after installation.

A heavy one piece extruded top rail does away with the need for multiple flemsy aluminum brackets . As you can see in the photo below right of one of the competitions shades next to the heavy duty Auto Motion Shade!

Stop by our showroom to see the full selection of shades and fabric choices, and for a free measurement and estimate any time!

Making better use of storage spaces!

Posted by: DaveLJ

We have a lot of requests to improve the storage space in RV's. A nice way to gain more usable storage space is slide out drawers. Here are a couple of recent installations we have done for customers. Both of these originally had washer/dryer combo units that were rarely used.  The first set of photos also shows the new flat screen installation, which also swings out for storage behind.
