Kansas Boondocking

While my boondocking travels have been limited to the western United States, I keep my eyes open for boondocking opportunities all across the United States. On the chance I am able to make an epic sea to sea cross country RV journey, it is good to have advanced knowledge on where boondocking is allowed in the states with limited public land.
Lake Front Camping

Following is a reference I came across online for boondocking opportunities in Kansas:

“The Kansas Department of Wildlife, Parks and Tourism (recently re-named) has what are called state fishing lakes. These are sites where camping, albeit very primitive, can occur for free. Many of the sites have lakes of about 200 acres. There will be pit toilets and no potable water, but they are free to camp in up to 14 days. They are out of the way and you need to really search the web to find references to them.”
More information can be ferreted out at: http://kdwpt.state.ks.us/news/KDWPT-Info/Locations/State-Fishing-Lakes

Building a boondocking database assures many future adventures in RVing regardless of the location.
