Put a Little Gravel in Your Travel

I am not a huge country music fan but sometimes when you are out in the western boondocks listening to the radio, you don’t have a lot of options when catching up on local news and weather. While recently exploring the boondocks with the radio playing a country music station, I heard the song “Take a Back Road” by Rodney Atkins. This song should become the theme song for boondocking, back road loving RVers everywhere!
                                                                                                                A Little Gravel Travel!
Following are samples of the lyrics:

- Get lost and get right with my soul
- So sick and tired of this interstate system I need a curve and wind-a-twistin' dusty path to nowhere
- Makes me wanna take the long way home
- Maybe it's the feeling or maybe it's the freedom
- Maybe it's that shady spot
- Put a little gravel in my travel

If you are not familiar with the song, take a listen at: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=auGC5ob6rpA

Now if the above verses speak to you and you have not yet discovered the joys of boondocking and back road travel, I urge you to take a line from the song and make it your New Years resolution. The verse “Put a little gravel in my travel” is the key to the getting away from it all and experiencing the joy of the boondocks. Gravel back roads will lead you to the best boondocking spots and those secret places of interest most RVers drive right by. Don’t worry, your RV can handle the road and the dust will wash off.

Right now, make this New Years resolution,

I will put a little gravel in my RV travels in 2012

“Take a Back Road“, I think country music is starting to grow on me! Wishing you and yours some great RVing adventures in 2012.
